Narrative:
In cruise at fl 350; 50 mi west of drayk; the left generator control light came on followed by the left generator light. The whole left side of the electrical system dropped off line. I reached up and started the APU. We got out the qrc and the flight manual. We were not able to get the left generator back on line; so we flew the rest of the flight with the APU powering the left system. We landed normally.

Narrative: In cruise at FL 350; 50 mi west of DRAYK; the left generator control light came on followed by the left generator light. The whole left side of the electrical system dropped off line.
