Narrative:

I was purser on the flight. During descent I was notified that the whole ceiling compartment fell in the aft galley; and that it fell on flight attendant #4's head. I called the captain and explained the situation; he called the back galley to verify what happened and how the flight attendant was doing. After we landed and everyone deplaned I went to the back to see for myself what happened and how flight attendant #4 felt. Flight attendant #4 informed me that he had pain; but was able to continue his leg back to base. When we landed he said that the pain was now expanding in toward his face and said that he would seek medical attention. I requested that he keep me informed and to promise me that he seek medical attention; which he did. We did not have a hard landing. I would like to know if this is just a normal occurrence. Someone could have been killed.
