Narrative:

On approach to ILS runway 10; prior to the FAF; when going from 15 to 20 flaps the 'te disagree' EICAS illuminated. We informed approach control; declared an emergency and were cleared to intercept the approach. We ran/completed the checklist prior to the first fix and were vectored for the approach. Meanwhile; I informed both the flight attendants (test) and passengers of the situation. We landed flaps 20; reference 20 (142 KTS) at 194;000 pounds; auto brakes 2. I asked tower and airport rescue and fire fighting to visually check brakes for smoke. They replied negative smoke. Brake cooling chart reveled at 60-70 minutes for cooling. Had airport rescue and fire fighting follow us to gate. Chocked airplane and did not set parking brakes (for cooling).
