Narrative:

Landed runway 35L. Ground said taxi to gate. While turning onto taxiway G3; I notice 4 dim red lights among the much brighter green taxi lights bisecting taxiway G3. Made a sudden stop. Asked controller if G3 was closed. He said; 'oh yeah.' used taxiway G2. No problem. Nothing in company briefing messages. No warning from ground control. Aus is closing G3 at night to make room for more parked aircraft. Two 4x4 chocks with two battery-operated lights were laid across the taxiway parallel and mixed in with the much brighter green taxi lights. It was very hard to see until the last second. Rolling over these lights/chocks can damage aircraft. Their location is so close to the green lights and in the same orientation (parallel) makes it easy to miss. No company or controller help.
