Narrative:
June 2009. ATR-72. I was the first officer; during the pre-flight inspection; I discovered that the #1 tat probe was installed backwards. Maintenance was contacted. The mechanics seemed to think that the tat probe was installed incorrectly; while the aircraft was in a contract repair facility for heavy checks; several days before. A logbook entry was made by the captain. Maintenance re-installed the tat probe.

Title: A Captain flying in the First Officer's seat; discovered during his pre-flight; the # 1 TAT probe was installed backwards. Mechanics noted the ATR-72 had just come out of a heavy check at a contract repair facility.
