Narrative:

I was assigned to cabin work this day. I was working three job cards X; Y and Z. While working the check on job card 'Y'; I had (also) accomplished thru item 4; check of closing and arming forces. I had finished the check of the arming lever and wanted to recheck the forces of the door handle; being that the spring scale has both newton meter and pound scale; I wanted to be sure I had read the scale correctly; the reading was within tolerances. Also; this was my first time doing this check and first time doing these job cards; I was concerned that I had done it correctly. I lifted the door handle approximately 2 inches; when I heard a hissing noise and the door started to pull open. I then realized that the door was opening on it's own; I let go of the handle. The door opened fully and the slide deployed and inflated.
