Narrative:

Uneventful flight with weather VFR; normal approach and landing. Touchdown smooth. Around one minute after exiting runway while turning into ramp; copilot and I heard a sudden loud exploding noise. At the same time the captain side front windshield cracked into numerous pieces. It resembled a spider web design. I recall that the windshield heat switches were on as they should be. We taxied into gate and accomplished normal shut down checklist. Discrepancy was noted in log. Dispatch was contacted; then maintenance and local operations. We did not feel anything striking our aircraft during flight or while taxiing.
