Narrative:

On localizer 9R approach into pontiac airport the first officers altitude and vertical speed indicator erratically indicated a plus and minus of 400 ft and 800 FPM indications. The captains' instruments indicated normal. Pontiac tower notified us of a low altitude alert and reminded us of the approach altitude requirements. We double-checked the instruments and the erratic indications stopped. At this time the runway was insight and we continued a normal approach to a normal landing.
