Narrative:

When I was on a direct route to bct; I requested a practice GPS approach to runway 5 at bct. Palm beach approach indicated that I would have to get that clearance from miami center but said that they might be able to get it for me. Palm beach approach called me and cleared me to the intersection named feyfo and cleared me for the approach (feyfo is an IAF for the GPS runway 5 approach). My route to feyfo would take me close to another intersection named uzapa; which is also an IAF for that approach. The difference is that an approach starting at the IAF uzapa does not require a procedure turn but an approach starting at the IAF feyfo does require a procedure turn. Having been cleared direct to the feyfo IAF; I prepared and flew the course reversal procedure turn however miami center and the boca tower expected that I would fly direct to the airport from feyfo without making a procedure turn. As a result while outbound on my course reversal procedure turn I was on a course opposite of what ATC expected. I believe the cause of this problem was a miscommunication between palm beach approach and miami center or a miscommunication between palm beach approach and myself.
