Airplane late arrival. Therefore did cockpit first. Pulled circuit breakers (circuit breaker's) and tagged switches before grounding aircraft and pining gear. Nothing happened; but situation for accident was possible. Weather: thunderstorms.

Title: A Mechanic reports a B747-400 arrived late and thunderstorms were active. He decided to first pull cockpit circuit breakers and tag switches; instead of grounding the aircraft and pining the landing gears first; as required by their jobcards.
Narrative: Airplane late arrival. Therefore did cockpit first. Pulled circuit breakers (CB's) and tagged switches before grounding aircraft and pining gear. Nothing happened; but situation for accident was possible. Weather: Thunderstorms.
