Narrative:
Quite unusually; fai ASR11 was out for maintenance and cenrap operations were in effect. Cenrap heightens the workload; as more separation is required; aircraft altitude readouts are invalid; etc. As the departure rush began I requested a hand off or at least arrival data. Nobody came. About 10 minutes later the departure traffic peaked and coordination with other facilities were demanding too much of my time; I again requested help. Help finally arrived about 15 minutes after my 2nd request; just after the ASR came back to service and cenrap terminated.
