Narrative:

I had 2 aircraft holding at nun that wanted approaches afterwards; one at pns and one at npa. When aircraft #1 advised ready for approaches as filed; I looked away from the scope to ensure he wanted approaches at npa and I hadn't updated the altitude on my strip; therefore; I assigned 4;000 ft because I thought he was at 4;000 ft. When I resumed my scan a few seconds later; I realized he was descending and turned him away from aircraft #2. I also descended aircraft #2 in holding to 3;000 ft. This situation occurred due to lack of updated strip marking.
