Narrative:

Departed ZZZ. While on climb; noticed red (left) engine oil pressure low indication with an increase in oil temperature. We followed procedures with an engine shutdown procedure as per manual. Notified ATC of situation to return to ZZZ and to have crash fire rescue equipment equipment at the airport. Called operations and asked to notify dispatch; due to our imminent arrival and short distance from the airport; of our situation. Notified flight attendant and passengers; and landed in ZZZ.
