Narrative:

Mci was on runway 1L/1R; runway 1R closed and we went to runway 1L/27 arrivals and runway 1L departures. Found out the following day that the TRACON was told by operations manager; who was in charge; that airspace 3 miles south of runway 9/27 and north and northeast belong to departure east. The airspace normally belongs to satellite -- neither tower nor center were told this. Therefore; any departures off mci going to satellite would not go to departure east and arrivals for satellite from center sector 40 would also. Did not find this configuration was done until following day. Called and informed facility of possible errors.
