Narrative:

I was made aware today (feb/xa/09) that I might have signed er/ETOPS critical paperwork on boeing 777 aircraft on dock and was not qualified. It was my understanding from local management that my general training qualified me as 'er/ETOPS trained' and that we would not dispatch boeing 777 er/ETOPS aircraft out of this maintenance base. This occurred starting oct/2008 to feb/2009. Supplemental information from acn 823494: I became aware today (feb/09) that I may have signed off er/ETOPS sensitive paperwork prior to jan/09 on the B777 without being ETOPS certified. First we were told that our general familiarization training certified us; then we were told by supervision that ETOPS does not apply to aircraft leaving this station.
