Narrative:

APU inoperative pneumatic electrical ok. Left engine hung start first attempt at gate. Second start attempt ok. Near end of pushback; pushback vehicle driver says ok to start right engine. I say back we have to cross-bleed are you ok with that. He says yes. I say; 'and the area clear behind;' he says yes. We begin to cross-bleed start; and pushback vehicle and towbar becomes jack-knifed. No damage to vehicle or plane; no personnel hurt. The very first warning above clear area before start; is do not attempt cross-bleed during pushback in the additional procedure for now obvious reasons; and I missed it.
