Narrative:

Refer to sel 1C icn note #2.we briefed note #2 that says not to lead turns due to the possibility of separation errors. After takeoff the first officer delays the turn at supan until 1 mile prior then turns. Even at flaps 1 and the 230 kt restriction we flew on or just past the 270 degree radial off yju. The idea is to stay inside the radial and miss the seoul tma. I have made a note on the departure to always follow LNAV and lead all turns to prevent getting this close to the north again. Do not follow note #2 and delay turns. You will either just touch or cross over the 270 degree radial.supplemental info from acn 822879: on this particular SID there is a note not to go north of the yju 270 radial. Also on this SID are 3 notes at the top of page. Note #2 states that pilots are to use caution not to turn early due to traffic separation(fly-by points on SID). Also the SID has you maintain 230 kts max until turns away from north are complete. We briefed maintaining flaps 1 and 230 kts due to the 230 was below our clean maneuvering speed and also not leading the turns to comply with note #2. On climb out we; maintained 230 kts and flaps 1. Approaching the 2nd fly-by point; the LNAV led the turn quite a bit; but I did not follow LNAV to comply with SID instructions of not turning early. We turned about 3/4 to 1/2 mile before turn. This put us in a position very close the yju 270 radial. We didn't cross the radial; but definitely flew right to the edge of it. Maybe should have maintained 180 kts-190 kts instead of the 230 kts to keep a tighter turn radius or just followed the LNAV and led the turns. In any event the note #2 needs more clarification.
