Narrative:
We were flight crew on medium large transport X, cleared on to hold, runway 26L, phx airport. Told we were in trail of company 5 mi. Took runway and set brakes. Aircraft runway and landing lights turned off, position lights and rotating beacons on. While awaiting takeoff clearance we heard, 'understand small transport Y is cleared to land? Looks like an aircraft on the runway.' tower answered, 'affirmative, cleared to land,' then, 'small transport Y go around, aircraft on runway.' we assumed he was talking to an aircraft landing on 26R although I wondered if he was talking to an small transport on final for our runway (26L). We had been in position for awhile, also did not notice an aircraft on final when we took position to hold. Shortly, we heard then saw small transport Y pass over us on a go around, runway heading. I then said, 'confirm (our call sign) cleared on to hold runway 26L?' tower said, 'affirmative.' I answered, 'alright.' shortly thereafter we were cleared for takeoff and remainder of flight was routine. Suspect tower may not have seen us with our landing lights off even though he had cleared us on to hold. I think he forgot about us.

Title: CPR SMT MADE GO AROUND BECAUSE OF ACR MLG IN POSITION AND HOLDING ON RWY.
Narrative: WE WERE FLT CREW ON MLG X, CLRED ON TO HOLD, RWY 26L, PHX ARPT. TOLD WE WERE IN TRAIL OF COMPANY 5 MI. TOOK RWY AND SET BRAKES. ACFT RWY AND LNDG LIGHTS TURNED OFF, POS LIGHTS AND ROTATING BEACONS ON. WHILE AWAITING TKOF CLRNC WE HEARD, 'UNDERSTAND SMT Y IS CLRED TO LAND? LOOKS LIKE AN ACFT ON THE RWY.' TWR ANSWERED, 'AFFIRMATIVE, CLRED TO LAND,' THEN, 'SMT Y GO AROUND, ACFT ON RWY.' WE ASSUMED HE WAS TALKING TO AN ACFT LNDG ON 26R ALTHOUGH I WONDERED IF HE WAS TALKING TO AN SMT ON FINAL FOR OUR RWY (26L). WE HAD BEEN IN POS FOR AWHILE, ALSO DID NOT NOTICE AN ACFT ON FINAL WHEN WE TOOK POS TO HOLD. SHORTLY, WE HEARD THEN SAW SMT Y PASS OVER US ON A GO AROUND, RWY HDG.
