Narrative:

Flight lga-mia. Mia approach had company flight X heavy and company flight Y heavy on frequency 125.75. Approach clrd company flight Y heavy to turn left to 100 degrees and des from 4000' to 3000'. First officer read clearance back. About 2 mins later approach gave flight Y heavy an immediate climb to 4000' and right turn to 340 degrees. He said the original clearance was for flight X heavy. Controller clrd Y heavy. Copilot read back Y heavy transport. Seemed to be a mix up between sound-alike flight numbers X and Y. Could have used a 'caution--company flight X and company flight Y on same frequency.'
