Maintenance control notified and aided in determining inspection was required. Course of follow-up action being discussed. While reviewing work card; noted 9 pints oil added to #2 engine requires notifying maintenance control. Contacted maintenance control; reviewed embraer technical notes. Determined oil consumption rate above embraer technical notes limit which requires fault isolation manual task for external leak check. Aircraft had departed for flight; could not comply with leak check.
