Narrative:

After landing on runway 24R; I was given a long taxi to the FBO on the opposite side of the airport; with 3 holds for traffic. Eventually; I was cleared to cross runway 25R at taxiway G; hold short of runway 25L. After crossing taxiway AC (center taxiway between runways 25L and 25R); I began looking for the hold short markings at runway 25L. I stopped when I realized the white runway edge line was about 100 ft ahead; and the hold short line was now behind me; at the south boundary of the center taxiway. I had anticipated seeing the hold short markings closer to the runway; and was not expecting it so close to the south 'wedge' of the taxiway (on scaled aerial photos; and the hold short markings appear to be approximately 220 ft from the runway edge). At that moment the tower controller called and advised I was past the hold line; and instructed an arriving lear to go around. At the time of the go around; the lear was about over the runway threshold; about 3000 ft east of taxiway G. Although I have landed at lax many times in the past; this was the first time I had arrived since taxiway AC has been in service; and I was unfamiliar with its proximity to the parallel runways. I suspect my focus on navigating the irregular shape of the intersection of high speed taxiway wg; taxiway G; and runway 25R may have distraction me from seeing the runway 25L hold short markings at the south edge of taxiway AC. I'm not sure what could prevent a recurrence. In fact; there is a note on the airport diagram reading 'caution: be alert to runway crossing clrncs.' I presumed this was meant for very large aircraft. Now I know its inclusion applies to everyone!

Title: A BE350 ENTERED RWY 25L ON TXWY G AFTER MISSING THE HOLD SHORT LINE. A NEW TXWY AC AND CONFUSION AT THE IRREGULAR INTXN OF WG; G; AND RWY 25R MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTOR.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 24R; I WAS GIVEN A LONG TAXI TO THE FBO ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ARPT; WITH 3 HOLDS FOR TFC. EVENTUALLY; I WAS CLRED TO CROSS RWY 25R AT TXWY G; HOLD SHORT OF RWY 25L. AFTER XING TXWY AC (CTR TXWY BTWN RWYS 25L AND 25R); I BEGAN LOOKING FOR THE HOLD SHORT MARKINGS AT RWY 25L. I STOPPED WHEN I REALIZED THE WHITE RWY EDGE LINE WAS ABOUT 100 FT AHEAD; AND THE HOLD SHORT LINE WAS NOW BEHIND ME; AT THE S BOUNDARY OF THE CTR TXWY. I HAD ANTICIPATED SEEING THE HOLD SHORT MARKINGS CLOSER TO THE RWY; AND WAS NOT EXPECTING IT SO CLOSE TO THE S 'WEDGE' OF THE TXWY (ON SCALED AERIAL PHOTOS; AND THE HOLD SHORT MARKINGS APPEAR TO BE APPROX 220 FT FROM THE RWY EDGE). AT THAT MOMENT THE TWR CTLR CALLED AND ADVISED I WAS PAST THE HOLD LINE; AND INSTRUCTED AN ARRIVING LEAR TO GO AROUND. AT THE TIME OF THE GAR; THE LEAR WAS ABOUT OVER THE RWY THRESHOLD; ABOUT 3000 FT E OF TXWY G. ALTHOUGH I HAVE LANDED AT LAX MANY TIMES IN THE PAST; THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD ARRIVED SINCE TXWY AC HAS BEEN IN SVC; AND I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH ITS PROX TO THE PARALLEL RWYS. I SUSPECT MY FOCUS ON NAVING THE IRREGULAR SHAPE OF THE INTXN OF HIGH SPD TXWY WG; TXWY G; AND RWY 25R MAY HAVE DISTR ME FROM SEEING THE RWY 25L HOLD SHORT MARKINGS AT THE S EDGE OF TXWY AC. I'M NOT SURE WHAT COULD PREVENT A RECURRENCE. IN FACT; THERE IS A NOTE ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM READING 'CAUTION: BE ALERT TO RWY XING CLRNCS.' I PRESUMED THIS WAS MEANT FOR VERY LARGE ACFT. NOW I KNOW ITS INCLUSION APPLIES TO EVERYONE!
