Narrative:

We were level at 15000 ft on departure out of ZZZ1. I felt an abnormal vibration in the rudder panels. Captain was able to feel a vibration in the throttles. We scanned the engine instruments and saw a rapid rise in the left engine oil temperature with a rapid decrease in left engine oil quantity. Captain followed QRH procedures and shut down left engine. ZZZ1 was reporting current visibility as 1/4 mi and ZZZ as 1/2 mi. Captain coordination with dispatch and I with ATC for diversion to ZZZ. Landed uneventfully at ZZZ.

Title: MD80 FO REPORTS VIBRATION IN RUDDER PEDALS PRIOR TO NOTING RISING OIL TEMP AND FALLING OIL QUANTITY. ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN AND DIVERSION TO NEAREST SUITABLE ARPT IS INITIATED.
