Narrative:

Originally pushed and had start valve ECAM. Return to blocks; replaced start valve. Pushed again; started both and taxied. Got call from cabin regarding large fuel leak #2 side. First officer observed same. Shut down #2 and stopped. Started APU shutdown #1 while observing fuel leak slowing. Equipment was rolled. Decision made in coordination with fire to take passenger off via mobile lounge. Crew stayed on to tow aircraft to maintenance. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the leak was actually noticed by a passenger and reported to a flight attendant and the leak was not from an engine but from the fuel vent near the wing tip. There was a lot of fuel on the ground and really got the attention of the crash fire rescue equipment crew.

Title: AFTER ENGINE START A319 FLT CREW IS INFORMED BY CABIN ATTENDANT OF LARGE FUEL LEAK ON RIGHT SIDE. ENGINES SHUT DOWN CFR CALLED PAX EVACUATED INTO MOBILE LOUNGE.

Narrative: ORIGINALLY PUSHED AND HAD START VALVE ECAM. RETURN TO BLOCKS; REPLACED START VALVE. PUSHED AGAIN; STARTED BOTH AND TAXIED. GOT CALL FROM CABIN REGARDING LARGE FUEL LEAK #2 SIDE. FO OBSERVED SAME. SHUT DOWN #2 AND STOPPED. STARTED APU SHUTDOWN #1 WHILE OBSERVING FUEL LEAK SLOWING. EQUIP WAS ROLLED. DECISION MADE IN COORD WITH FIRE TO TAKE PAX OFF VIA MOBILE LOUNGE. CREW STAYED ON TO TOW ACFT TO MAINT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE LEAK WAS ACTUALLY NOTICED BY A PASSENGER AND REPORTED TO A FLIGHT ATTENDANT AND THE LEAK WAS NOT FROM AN ENGINE BUT FROM THE FUEL VENT NEAR THE WING TIP. THERE WAS A LOT OF FUEL ON THE GROUND AND REALLY GOT THE ATTENTION OF THE CFR CREW.
