Narrative:

During a training dual cross country flight; the landing gear was selected up after takeoff and failed to retract. This was the last leg of the flight from ZZZ to ZZZ1. The flight was continued to ZZZ1 with the gear down and 3 green lights on the gear position indicator. Flight following was requested from ZZZ center after the FSS had been advised of our situation. I declared an emergency and landed without further problems. The aircraft was shut down on the runway and towed into the hangar. The 2 legs of the flight showed no indications of a gear malfunction. I elected to continue the flight to ZZZ1 where repairs could be made.
