Narrative:

After completing the before start briefings I delayed the 'before start' checklist awaiting fuel. I then allowed myself to become distraction by our inability to get a window wash. The windows were cleaned as the paperwork arrived and we pushed quickly thereafter to be on time. While taxiing we noticed that we left the gate without being fueled and without completing the beginning section of the before start checklist. We returned to the gate; contacted dispatch and operations; were fueled; and continued to our destination.
