Narrative:

Was contacted by maintenance for a fuel quantity placard for the left wing reading 1000 pounds in error. The PIREP was for a fuel quantity and fuel flow problem. Once I discovered this; I had the aircraft taken OTS for repair. MEL was issued for fuel quantity. PIREP was for fuel quantity and fuel flow.
