Narrative:

After takeoff; we switched to departure control. We had radar contact climb to 7000 on apano 1C. During turn; departure gave us fly heading 004 degrees; climb to 8000 ft. We confirmed 004 degree heading; then departure said intercept 004 degree radial to apano. During the communication we missed the transition altitude call at 4000 ft and did not reset altimeters to 29.92 standard. We asked about the 7000 ft hold-down restr; and departure confirmed climb to 8000 ft. TCAS gave us a TA on traffic at 9300 ft and we had visual on that aircraft. As we leveled at 8000 ft; departure asked confirm 8000 ft. We reported 8000 ft and noticed altimeters were 1003 hectopascal not standard. We reset to standard and descended 120 ft to 8000 ft and reported level 8000 ft. No further actions were taken.

Title: A B777 FLT CREW DEPARTING VABB FAILED TO SET STD ALT CLIMBING OUT OF TRANSITION ALT AND EXPERIENCED A TCAS RA WITH ANOTHER AIRCRAFT.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF; WE SWITCHED TO DEP CTL. WE HAD RADAR CONTACT CLB TO 7000 ON APANO 1C. DURING TURN; DEP GAVE US FLY HDG 004 DEGS; CLB TO 8000 FT. WE CONFIRMED 004 DEG HDG; THEN DEP SAID INTERCEPT 004 DEG RADIAL TO APANO. DURING THE COM WE MISSED THE TRANSITION ALT CALL AT 4000 FT AND DID NOT RESET ALTIMETERS TO 29.92 STANDARD. WE ASKED ABOUT THE 7000 FT HOLD-DOWN RESTR; AND DEP CONFIRMED CLB TO 8000 FT. TCAS GAVE US A TA ON TFC AT 9300 FT AND WE HAD VISUAL ON THAT ACFT. AS WE LEVELED AT 8000 FT; DEP ASKED CONFIRM 8000 FT. WE RPTED 8000 FT AND NOTICED ALTIMETERS WERE 1003 HECTOPASCAL NOT STANDARD. WE RESET TO STANDARD AND DSNDED 120 FT TO 8000 FT AND RPTED LEVEL 8000 FT. NO FURTHER ACTIONS WERE TAKEN.
