Narrative:
At top of descent; flight attendants notified us that a passenger was not feeling well. We were close enough to call operations directly. Operations notified. We requested an ambulance meet us at the gate. A nurse evaluated the passenger and determined he was dehydrated; oxygen was administered and he responded favorably. We advised ATC. They gave us a shortened final. Water has become a safety issue. Paramedics advised they have seen an increase in these cases since the airline started charging for water. I think water has become a safety issue. Water needs to be complimentary.
