Narrative:
We replaced the #2 engine fuel oil heat exchanger on aircraft X; I signed off the job task and failed to flag an rii. We came in the following day and the aircraft was flying to ZZZ. I notified maintenance control to flag the procedure there.

Title: AFTER REPLACING THE #2 ENG FUEL OIL HEAT EXCHANGER ON A B757-200 ACFT; MECHANIC FAILED TO HAVE A REQUIRED INSPECTION ITEM (RII) ACCOMPLISHED BEFORE SIGNING FOR COMPLETION OF WORK AND RELEASE OF ACFT.
Narrative: WE REPLACED THE #2 ENG FUEL OIL HEAT EXCHANGER ON ACFT X; I SIGNED OFF THE JOB TASK AND FAILED TO FLAG AN RII. WE CAME IN THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THE ACFT WAS FLYING TO ZZZ. I NOTIFIED MAINT CTL TO FLAG THE PROC THERE.
