Approximately 20 mins after departure; just after leveloff in cruise; we smelled fumes. Could not determine the exact source. Applied QRH procedure for smoke/fumes. Fumes did not completely disperse so we diverted. Overweight landing 322K pounds. Touchdown speed 148 KTS. Did not declare an emergency. Maintenance found the first officer's window heat connector was arcing.
