Narrative:
Air carrier X was south aircraft on a dual vtu jet departure. Aircraft Y was the north aircraft on a dual vtu jet departure. The aircraft were about 6 mi abeam each other; both aircraft climbing to 13000 ft. I entered FL230 in air carrier X data block; mistakenly believing I had issued the climb clearance. I then turned air carrier X to the north; which crossed in front of aircraft Y. Upon recognizing that air carrier X was not climbing above aircraft Y; I turned aircraft Y to the north; away from air carrier X.

Title: ZLA CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT 13000 BETWEEN PARALLEL ACFT; BELIEVING A CLIMB CLRNC HAD BEEN ISSUED TO ONE ACFT PRIOR TO VECTORING SAME.
Narrative: ACR X WAS S ACFT ON A DUAL VTU JET DEP. ACFT Y WAS THE N ACFT ON A DUAL VTU JET DEP. THE ACFT WERE ABOUT 6 MI ABEAM EACH OTHER; BOTH ACFT CLBING TO 13000 FT. I ENTERED FL230 IN ACR X DATA BLOCK; MISTAKENLY BELIEVING I HAD ISSUED THE CLB CLRNC. I THEN TURNED ACR X TO THE N; WHICH CROSSED IN FRONT OF ACFT Y. UPON RECOGNIZING THAT ACR X WAS NOT CLBING ABOVE ACFT Y; I TURNED ACFT Y TO THE N; AWAY FROM ACR X.
