Narrative:
We pushed back in tul and although runway 8 was notamd closed; we asked if it was available for our takeoff. They said; 'yes' and cleared us to taxi to runway 8. We took off on runway 8. Later in the day I received a call from the chief pilot saying tul said we took off on a closed runway. Since we asked and tul granted our request; we understood that to mean runway 8 was opened again. ATC communications within the tower.

Title: ACR FLT CREW RPTS DEPARTING FROM RWY 8 AT TUL WHICH IS NOTAMD CLOSED WITH ATC APPROVAL. ATC OP ERROR IS RECORDED.
Narrative: WE PUSHED BACK IN TUL AND ALTHOUGH RWY 8 WAS NOTAMD CLOSED; WE ASKED IF IT WAS AVAILABLE FOR OUR TAKEOFF. THEY SAID; 'YES' AND CLEARED US TO TAXI TO RWY 8. WE TOOK OFF ON RWY 8. LATER IN THE DAY I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE CHIEF PLT SAYING TUL SAID WE TOOK OFF ON A CLOSED RWY. SINCE WE ASKED AND TUL GRANTED OUR REQUEST; WE UNDERSTOOD THAT TO MEAN RWY 8 WAS OPENED AGAIN.
