Narrative:

I assumed the frisco low radar/radar associate/handoff position at about XA40L on aug/xa/08. On the status board was a note for 'gle runway 17/35 clsd.' I checked the erids display and found no NOTAM for the runway closure at gle and questioned the controller in charge. The controller in charge had no knowledge and asked the flm who had no knowledge. The controller in charge called the cos (center operations specialist) who investigated and advised the NOTAM for this runway closure had been canceled at about XL00L that morning. This means that for the entire day of aug/xa/08; we had been incorrectly advising pilots that the primary runway at gle was closed. This is the longer (6001 ft versus 4307 ft) and wider (100 ft versus 80 ft) of the 2 runways at gle; and the one equipped with PAPI; reils; and pilot lighting preset to low intensity. This runway was also the runway most aligned with the winds for the whole day. Once again; by listing items on the status board and then not ensuring they are removed when no longer valid; we are risking pilots lives!

Title: ZFW CTLR VOICED CONCERN REGARDING THE FACILITY'S FAILURE TO PROVIDE UPDATED ARPT INFO ON STATUS BOARDS; ALLEGING POSSIBLE UNSAFE CONDITIONS.

Narrative: I ASSUMED THE FRISCO LOW RADAR/RADAR ASSOCIATE/HDOF POS AT ABOUT XA40L ON AUG/XA/08. ON THE STATUS BOARD WAS A NOTE FOR 'GLE RWY 17/35 CLSD.' I CHKED THE ERIDS DISPLAY AND FOUND NO NOTAM FOR THE RWY CLOSURE AT GLE AND QUESTIONED THE CIC. THE CIC HAD NO KNOWLEDGE AND ASKED THE FLM WHO HAD NO KNOWLEDGE. THE CIC CALLED THE COS (CTR OPS SPECIALIST) WHO INVESTIGATED AND ADVISED THE NOTAM FOR THIS RWY CLOSURE HAD BEEN CANCELED AT ABOUT XL00L THAT MORNING. THIS MEANS THAT FOR THE ENTIRE DAY OF AUG/XA/08; WE HAD BEEN INCORRECTLY ADVISING PLTS THAT THE PRIMARY RWY AT GLE WAS CLOSED. THIS IS THE LONGER (6001 FT VERSUS 4307 FT) AND WIDER (100 FT VERSUS 80 FT) OF THE 2 RWYS AT GLE; AND THE ONE EQUIPPED WITH PAPI; REILS; AND PLT LIGHTING PRESET TO LOW INTENSITY. THIS RWY WAS ALSO THE RWY MOST ALIGNED WITH THE WINDS FOR THE WHOLE DAY. ONCE AGAIN; BY LISTING ITEMS ON THE STATUS BOARD AND THEN NOT ENSURING THEY ARE REMOVED WHEN NO LONGER VALID; WE ARE RISKING PLTS LIVES!
