Narrative:
Sector had 6-10 aircraft with WX. Deviations were occurring. I had no d-side. Switched aircraft X to fwa sector at ZAU. Had not initiated radar handoff. Fwa controller called and asked who code 'XXXX' was; who was about to enter their airspace. I apologized for switching before handoff and told aircraft X and they called radar.
