Narrative:

About 30 mins prior to landing at ZZZ; received ECAM warning G hydraulic system quantity low followed by G hydraulic system low pressure. After conferring with dispatch; it was decided that we would divert to ZZZ2 as captain was not comfortable landing at ZZZ1 with hydraulic failure. An emergency was declared with center and our intentions were made known to land at ZZZ2. A landing was made at ZZZ2 on runway xx without further incident. Although nosewheel steering was inoperative; captain was able to clear the runway so that runway closure could be avoided. ECAM procedures were followed and it was decided that a diversion to ZZZ2 for longer runway was more prudent than continuing to ZZZ1.
