Training on departure; training on arrival. Trainee climbed departure aircraft through arrival airspace. Trainee issued (arrival) traffic to arrival aircraft assuming departure aircraft was stopping at 8000 ft. I turned aircraft X eastbound to avoid departure aircraft.
