Narrative:

At FL240 both automatic pressurization controllers failed. With the cabin rising I selected manual and tried to close the valve. The valve would not travel past half way closed. Completed memory item and requested and received an emergency descent to 10000 ft. After completing all QRH checklists; talking to dispatch; flight attendants; and passenger the emergency was terminated. We continued to ZZZ for a normal landing.
