Narrative:

Before leaving ZZZ dispatch SELCAL'ed to tell us that the weight penalty of 700 pounds for the fairings being removed was deleted from the release when the cdl still applied. They said that it should have been applied for the previous flight but it wasn't. I checked our weight from that previous leg and there were no overweight issues. We applied the weight penalty for the next leg and there were no further complications. The cdl was listed on the release but the weight penalty was not applied to the performance. I did not realize that the weight penalty still existed because we do not have direct access to that cdl. It seems we should have direct access to that information because it adversely affects our performance and our maximum weight penalties. Dispatch did not say why the information was deleted from the release; but apologized.
