Narrative:

During cruise flight at FL280; lost all electrical power to right side of aircraft. Appeared to be a generator loss. Left side electrical picked up load and APU was started to back up electrical. This was an ETOPS flight. Company was notified; and per maintenance and dispatch; it was determined that a return to ZZZ with an overweight landing would be made. All checklists were completed; and the flight attendants and passenger were briefed. The overweight checklist was completed and a return to ZZZ was made. A 'normal' overweight landing without any problem was made; and a normal taxi in to the gate was completed. Logbook entries were completed and the aircraft was turned over to maintenance for repair. All elements of the overweight landing were reported to company and maintenance.
