Narrative:

While in cruise; EICAS for no datalink and no satvoice appeared. Condition continued for approximately 30 mins. Followed flight manual procedures for indications. Communications were with edmonton center and regular position reports were being made on VHF. After unsuccessful attempts to restore datalink/satvoice were attempted; crew initiated multiple attempts to reach company using various HF frequencys. Edmonton center advised that they had no way of passing our position to company. Crew was not successful trying to reach company maintenance HF; crew then contacted arctic radio and provided position report to be relayed to company. Intermittent problem resolved itself without crew action. Contacted company by satvoice to advise situation. Company advised they had been attempting to reach us for a period of time and were unsuccessful. Company advised that they had another aircraft trying to reach us as well but no xmissions were heard from that flight. Also received a SELCAL from anchorage center shortly after reaching company conveying that they had also been trying to reach us to pass along a possible solution to remedy the no datalink issue. Reported to maintenance control the problem we experienced once datalink was restored. They advise that there was a similar history of the same problem on record. Sent new write-up via ACARS. Continued flight with only minor disruption of datalink/satvoice system.
