On approach to ZZZ when selecting flaps 1 degree; leading edge disagreement illuminated on EICAS and leading edge flaps caution illuminated. Followed QRH procedure and unable to move leading edge due to asymmetry. Trailing edge flaps operated using alternate system. Declared emergency. Landed flaps 20 degrees. Landing normal.
