Narrative:
While on the takeoff roll practicing a simulated soft field takeoff; airplane veered off runway and contacted a sign; rolled through the grass; lightly struck the propeller; and flattened a tire. Aircraft was safely taxied to parking and towed to the hangar. My instructor and I had practiced those takeoffs previously in the day and he felt I was safe to attempt them. I had been flying for over 4 hours already that day -- perhaps continued practice was a bad idea.
