Narrative:

Departing runway 24 at teb. Cleared for teb 5 departure from runway 24. Departure indicated initial leveloff at 1500 ft until passing 4.5 DME; then climb to 2000 ft. At approximately 1200 ft in the climb; ny approach gave a vector heading of 280 degrees; essentially taking us off the SID. During the turn; we let the altitude drift above 2000 ft. As we started descending back down to 1500 ft; ny approach cleared us to 7000 ft. We were not sure if the 1500 ft leveloff still applied or not; since we were vectored off the SID. But we did let the altitude exceed even 2000 ft inadvertently.

Title: FLT CREW IS GIVEN A VECTOR HDG OF 280 DEGS AT 1200 FT DURING THE TEB 5 DEP AND ALLOWS ACFT TO CLB ABOVE 2000 FT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAINTAIN 1500 FT.

Narrative: DEPARTING RWY 24 AT TEB. CLRED FOR TEB 5 DEP FROM RWY 24. DEP INDICATED INITIAL LEVELOFF AT 1500 FT UNTIL PASSING 4.5 DME; THEN CLB TO 2000 FT. AT APPROX 1200 FT IN THE CLB; NY APCH GAVE A VECTOR HDG OF 280 DEGS; ESSENTIALLY TAKING US OFF THE SID. DURING THE TURN; WE LET THE ALTITUDE DRIFT ABOVE 2000 FT. AS WE STARTED DSNDING BACK DOWN TO 1500 FT; NY APCH CLRED US TO 7000 FT. WE WERE NOT SURE IF THE 1500 FT LEVELOFF STILL APPLIED OR NOT; SINCE WE WERE VECTORED OFF THE SID. BUT WE DID LET THE ALTITUDE EXCEED EVEN 2000 FT INADVERTENTLY.
