Narrative:

Pushback was normal after starting the #2 engine at gate. #2 was started due to APU bleed MEL. After start; the aircraft was pulled forward towards the taxi line. The aircraft was stopped with just #2 running as we waited for further communications and signals from the ground crew. As I was looking out my side window I noticed that the aircraft was moving forward. I told the captain to stop. At the same time the ground crew told him to stop as well. He stopped the aircraft and set the parking brake. He told the ground crew that the brake was set. No further communications were heard from the ground crew. The ground crew then removed the pin and I watched them leave the area. There was never a wands-up signal. One ground crew member waved us off and we were on our way. Supplemental information from acn 779671: the ground crew removed pin and tow bar and left the area near the aircraft. No marshallers gave a 'wands up' signal. One member of the ground crew waved at us as we taxied to runway.
