Narrative:

Working radar arrival. Landing runway 36L and 36R. Very busy traffic. 2 DH8's inbound to clt on majic arrival with similar call signs. Issued advisory to each aircraft that similar call signs were being used. Issued aircraft X turn to downwind and received correct readback. However; aircraft Y also took the turn 20 mi northeast clt turning south towards departure corridor. Departure controller was advised and one departing aircraft climbing was turned to avert any conflict. No separation was lost. This appears to be a common problem with this company issuing very similar call signs. One pilot said his requests to have call signs changed has been ignored. We were both clearly frustrated at this continuing problem.
