Narrative:
On descent into ZZZ at 250 KIAS and approximately 10000 ft. Convective buildups in area and flight path was avoiding build-ups. Appeared we would be descending IMC briefly and captain gave aural warning to flight attendants over PA to take their seats. This was precautionary as we expected a rougher ride but not severe turbulence. Approximately 30 seconds after that PA we encountered severe turbulence with the aircraft receiving several hard jolts. Entire duration 8-10 seconds. Autoplt was on but did disengage. Captain directed first officer to ask purser if everyone was ok. Purser said 2 flight attendants in aft cabin were hurt and that an emt was rendering assistance. First officer radioed ahead to ZZZ operations to have emt's meet aircraft. The 2 injured flight attendants were taken off the aircraft on stretchers. Destination was considered to be the nearest suitable airport for landing and a normal landing was made.
