I issued aircraft X direct to amg taking him off his filed route. I believed I entered the route into uret. Route did not get entered; and the aircraft entered the next sector not on filed route; resulting in operational deviation.

Title: ZID CTLR EXPERIENCED OPDEV WHEN FAILING TO ENTER ROUTE DATA INTO THE URET SYSTEM RESULTING IN AN UNCOORDINATED ENTRY INTO ADJACENT AIRSPACE.
Narrative: I ISSUED ACFT X DIRECT TO AMG TAKING HIM OFF HIS FILED RTE. I BELIEVED I ENTERED THE RTE INTO URET. RTE DID NOT GET ENTERED; AND THE ACFT ENTERED THE NEXT SECTOR NOT ON FILED RTE; RESULTING IN OPDEV.
