Narrative:

At 2 hours out of ZZZ1; smell of burning wire was isolated to 3L/right area. Logbook stated this incident happened 2 days earlier; so entertainment system was totally shut down. At 2 hours from ZZZ2; smell of burning wire could be smelled from the entire aircraft; including the cockpit. Captain advised to shut down all lights; power ports; galleys; everything electrical. We took out our halons and pbe's in case we needed to fight a fire. A decision was made to go to ZZZ3 because it was a big airport and no fire was reported. Landed in ZZZ3 without incident. Nothing could be found and incident was not able to be replicated on the ground. Big surprise.
