Narrative:

After repeated requests for landing on west side we were cleared for runway 17L. During approach it was clear controller training was in progress. We made 3 radio calls to tower before we got a response on final and could hear supervisor telling controller what to say in background on radio. Landed on runway 17L rolled out to high speed exit taxiway Q7 and continued rollout onto taxiway er as landing aircraft in front of us had done and is normal taxi flow for taxi to west side of the airport. A we exited the runway and were committed to taxiway er. We received taxi instructions to turn right on taxiway Q and go north to taxiway el and hold short of runway 17C which we were able to comply with. As we entered taxiway er we were told to stop as taxiway er was restricted to widebody aircraft. We checked all messages; airport NOTAMS; and also ATIS and no mention of this restriction in any of our paperwork. We sat approximately 5 minutes on taxiway er before a follow me vehicle ushered us ahead to cross runway 17C and runway 17R. This was an area of taxiway shoulder construction for pending new bypass taxiway around the departure end of runway 17C and runway 17R. All hard surface taxiway was in place with cones outlining the shoulder work. Talked to dispatcher; and he also concurred he had no NOTAM information on widebody restriction on this taxiway. He advised he called tower and talked to supervisor. He said that they had no problem with our operation but they had put NOTAM information out about the restriction. Dispatcher put out notice for another flight in case they were given runway 17L also plus was sending information to operations to include in NOTAMS.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that it is unusual for widebodies to land on runway 17L and has not used it since his report. The construction is still underway and there is still no NOTAM concerning the restriction on taxiway er.
