Narrative:

While at cruise altitude; the forward door seal failed and we did a rapid descent down to 15000 ft. The cabin stabilized; and we diverted to ZZZ. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the cabin door is not of the 'plug' type. They could hear the door leaking and immediately checked to discover the cabin was climbing. An emergency was declared to obtain an immediate descent clearance. Inspection revealed a tear on the seal.

Title: CABIN DOOR SEAL FAILED ON A G IV AND THE CABIN WAS LOSING PRESSURE. FLT CREW INITIATED AN EMER DESCENT AND DIVERTED.

Narrative: WHILE AT CRUISE ALT; THE FORWARD DOOR SEAL FAILED AND WE DID A RAPID DSCNT DOWN TO 15000 FT. THE CABIN STABILIZED; AND WE DIVERTED TO ZZZ. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE REPORTER STATED THAT THE CABIN DOOR IS NOT OF THE 'PLUG' TYPE. THEY COULD HEAR THE DOOR LEAKING AND IMMEDIATELY CHECKED TO DISCOVER THE CABIN WAS CLIMBING. AN EMER WAS DECLARED TO OBTAIN AN IMMEDIATE DESCENT CLRNC. INSPECTION REVEALED A TEAR ON THE SEAL.
